Rovaniemi is the home of Santa Claus and is situated close to the Arctic Circle. This city offers you lots of adventures, winter activities, and unique experiences.

Trip to the Arctic Circle, Santa Claus’ Village and Santa’s reindeers. This trip brings you to the Arctic Circle, where you’ll have the chance to meet Santa Claus himself and the reindeer herders. The Arctic Circle is a line visible on the map, north of which the sun can be seen above the horizon even at midnight during the summertime. Contrastingly, during the winter the sun stays below the horizon for a certain time. As a unique memory everybody gets the official Arctic Circle crossing certificate. The Santa Claus Village is a unique meeting place where hundreds of thousands of visitors from all over the world come to meet Santa Claus every day of the year- a place where the fairy-tale becomes true.

Today you will visit a husky farm and go on a two-hour safari. The practice of sled dogs dates back to 2000 BC. Historically it was used for work to pull loads in Siberia and in North America.

This practice then spread to European countries. Meet lovely, cuddly huskies at the husky farm and participate in a longer husky safari through the beautiful wilderness of Lapland. You can ride a husky sled during this two-hour safari, taking turns to steer the dogs. Take pictures with the huskies and ask all you want to know about huskies and their arctic life! Continue in the evening on a northern lights trip by car and on foot. The destination is the best possible place – a small mountain where the sky is often clear with a view to the north. After a short walk up the hill where a comfortable wooden tepee is waiting for you, you will be able to make a fire in the tepee, enjoy warm beverages and barbeque snacks while watching the sky. Today transfer out to the Airport for your next destination.

Upon arrival in Helsinki you will be transferred to Turku by Train or bus for approximately 2 hours. Upon arrival in Turku you will be transferred to your hotel downtown. This is where you will spend the next two nights. Depending on the arrival time, you can enjoy a guided tour this afternoon or the next day. For the evening leisure, we suggest you take a small walk along the beautiful river Aura and have dinner in one of Turku’s lovely restaurants.

After breakfast, an authorised city guide will pick you up at your hotel and take you on a 2,5-hour walking tour to explore Turku. You will get to see the historical parts of the city, learn about Finnish history, the people of Turku and their way of life. Turku is the oldest city in Finland. Due to its long history, Turku has been the site of many important events and, as a former capital, has had a major influence on Finnish history. The tour takes you to the Turku Cathedral and Old Turku. We’ll also walk along River Aura and visit the modern city centre. You will get tips on what to do in Turku and in the surrounding areas. After the guided tour you will have free time for shopping and lunch. In the afternoon you will have the possibility to go on a one-hour boat ride on the river Aura. Using an eco friendly e-boat Låna you will get to see the town from a totally different angle. (This tour is only available during the summer season, from mid-May to mid-September). During summer months we also suggest a cruise to the archipelago, either afternoon or evening time. There is also a multitude of museums to visit, for example the Turku Castle or Luostarinmäki with its old wooden houses.

After breakfast you will take the train to Tampere. The train ride lasts just a little bit under two hours. After dropping your luggage off at your hotel, it is time for a 4-hour guided Tampere city tour. During the tour you will discover the beautiful scenery and interesting attractions of Tampere’s city centre. The shores of Tammerkoski rapids are full of history, nature, bridges, architecture, culture, industrial past, and new urban life. On the guided tour you will get to see and taste the best pieces of Tampere. As you are in the Sauna Capital of the world you will get to join a guided sauna experience in the afternoon or evening. During this experience, you will learn about the Finnish sauna etiquette, traditions and culture, enjoy a sauna bath and dip into the refreshing water of Lake Pyhäjärvi.

There is still time to enjoy the lakes and take a cruise to Viikinsaari (only available during the summer time) or alternatively visit one of the museums in Tampere. There is also the possibility to enjoy a leisurely stroll in Pyynikki and climb the tower to see the views. In the afternoon take a train to Helsinki. You will spend the next two nights in the capital of Finland.

Full day tour to get to know Helsinki. A guided walking tour will give you a good start to know the city. Among other things you will see the famous landmarks of Helsinki – the White Cathedral, the Market Square, the Old Market Hall, the Esplanade promenade, the impressive Central Library Oodi and the famous Rock Church. For the afternoon we recommend a trip to Suomenlinna, a fortress built in the 18th century, which is located on several interconnected islands off Helsinki. The fortress is easily accessible by ferry and the crossing only takes about 15 minutes.

After breakfast it is time to end your tour in Finland and transfer to the Airport or your next destination.
